The Post Sale Charge (PSC) and the wool Sale Basis (WSB) are data elements required by the buyer to calculate cost of the wool, ex the broker’s store.

Following last week’s blog on Melbourne’s recent PSC charges we have been requested to report on

Sydney’s recent sales.

The table below summarises those costs for the 3 sales S1012.

It is interesting that this selection of PSC shows significantly more consistency than recent

In our efforts to monitor PSC costs we have now summarised this week’s Melbourne sale with last week.

The table below shows that summary and comments follow. Dependent upon the feedback we will continue such monitoring.

Leading up to the start of the new wool selling season considerable work went into educating brokers and changing electronic data standards to improve the quality of data presented to buyers, especially the Post Sale Charge (PSC) which has become one of the largest cost direct components in the ‘selling cycle’ – in many cases more than the cost brokers charge the grower.
